What is your future? Can your predict it? In today’s gospel reading, Jesus predicted he would die. That is the same thing that will happen to each of us, we are all going to die. And we are going to spend eternity in the afterlife. But first, we need to live, and to live a life worthy to be offered eternity in heaven.
So how are you going live a live worthy to be offered eternity in heaven. Again, we turn to Jesus’ words. In the gospel:
The Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.
As each of us baptized Christians have Jesus as a part of us, like Jesus, we need to find a way to serve. There are so many different ways to serve others. It could be serving in the church on some ministry. It could be teaching faith formation or sacramental prep. But it also could be to look after family members or a neighbor. Visiting the sick or the imprisoned. You might serve by feeding the hungry. There are so many different ways to serve, take the time to find how God is asking you to serve.
And at the end of your life, like Jesus, you will have given your life to many.
